New modem.Follow

I got Didital phone last night, and the people that installed it had to bring us a new modem. It's a "ARRIS" Touchstone Telephony Modem. It has a line of about 9-10 lights in a vertical line on it, and it also has a battery.

While the guy was hooking it up, I asked him "I use my PS2 to go online, so how would I do that?" and he replied "You just plug the ethernet cord into the back, right here *points*" So, after he left, my brother got on the computer, for a hour or so, then I told him I wanted to get on FFXI. He got off of the computer, and I plugged the Ethernet cord from my PS2 into the computer, but it wouldn't connect. It kept telling me to check my DNS server. So, I thought it was like my other modem, where you have to unplug it for 10 seconds, so I did. It didn't turn off. So, I took the battery out for 10 seconds, put it back in, plugged the modem back up, and it worked.

When I was finished on FFXI, I went to hook it back to the computer. I hooked everything back up correctly, and when I turned the modem back on, It wouldn't get past the 3rd light. the 3rd light says "US" beside it, and it blinks.

I gotta have the modem back up to have my phone working, so I really need to get it back up. Also, if anyone knows how to fix it, please tell me how to connect it from the ps2<->computer and back without it messing up.

Your best bet would be to buy a router so they can both be connected.

You first port of call if you're having problems with the modem are the people who made it or the guys/gals who supplied it.
