What is your favorite gaming KVM?Follow

I'm beginning to think the major KVM manufacturers royally missed the boat and there is a definite market out there for a true “gaming” KVM. I love to 2-box between two separate computers, but because of desk space limitations I’m forced to use only a single monitor and keyboard/mouse. I’ve owned a 2-port Linksys KVM that was great to hot-key between computers, but unfortunately it had some form of a buffering problem where it would lock up and not switch computers (typically right before a mob was ready to smack you dead and you couldn’t hot-key out to the “cleric” computer for a quick heal).

I’ve had better luck (stability wise) with the Iogear KVMs, but for some reason the company refuses to make a KVM that has an easy hot-key sequence where you can switch machines without lifting your hands from the keyboard. On the Iogear KVM using the four front buttons to switch computers is easy enough, but it requires a movement of the arm that sometimes can cost you vital seconds in a game.

So what is your favorite KVM that is both stable and super fast to switch between computers?

My fantasy KVM would be completely contrable from the keyboard using simple hot-key commands. Even better would be a manufacturer that makes a gaming keyboard that integrates right with the KVM, so you have special macro keys that specifically control the KVM. Alternatively if the KVM offered some for of “wired remote control” that directly attached to your keyboard (i.e. 4 small KVM control buttons) this would be equally as cool. Any engineers up for a challenge?

At work I use a linksys kvm2kit. It's cheap, stable, and faster than a belkin, and is controlled by hitting scroll lock twice. It also doesn't beep like a belkin, which bugs me to no end.

It would be a pretty niche market to build keyboard/KVM combos, but I'm sure you could sell a few.

I have an IOGEAR GC5612A. It is similar to what highRfrequenC linked, but it also switches audio. It only has a hot-key sequence to switch comps (no buttons on it). It works great for gaming (switches instantly, no probs with auto-repeat on keys, etc). It also does not beep when switching. In the 2 years that I had it, I have had it freak out twice, but I tracked that down to switching from comp a to b and back to a way to quick.
