Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help out on a problem I've had recently while trying to play FFXI. I reformatted my PC recently, kept getting some nasty pop-ups up that I couldnt get rid of. However, since reformatting, I've had nothing but bother while playing FFXI. One problem is my POL viwer is glitchy - little boxes flash up behind areas of text. The worst problem is, however, while playing FFXI I get two major problems- sound and graphics. The sound starts to go all weird, almost like its being played underwater. Then the graphics will go nuts - everything moves at like 1 frame per 5 minutes, people lose limbs, chunks of landscape dissapear. The only way I can stop it is to DC myself and log back in ><. I've checked I have the right drivers for my graphics card (nvidia gforce 5700) and I have installed Directx 9.c. I've played around with a few things to try fix it, and have also reinstalled it. Twice. >.>;; So basically just wondering if anyone would have any ideas or similar problems themselves that they managed to fix.

If you think you can help and need anymore info just ask me :)

Thanks to anyone who tries ^^

(p.s. pretty sure its not the actual graphics hardware, haven't had problems with anyother games :( )

Have you tried upgrading your sound card drivers?

You may even want to start with a clean slate, uninstall your graphics card drivers, then run Driver Cleaner to get rid of your Nvidia GPU drivers completely. Then re-install your graphics drivers.

When you say you've tried other games, is that on your new installation of windows?

Any kind of funky peripherals plugged into your PC like a bluetooth adapter?
