I'm not a programmer, but this has to be pretty easy to do. Does anyone know how to create a mini compiled program that will automatically switch a KVM from one port to another by running a small exe file that issues keyboard commands? I have a Microsoft Digital Media Pro keyboard that has 5 functon keys that would be ideal for switching the ports on a 4-port KVM. Unfortunately you can only assign the keys to an EXE instead of being a programable keyboard that memorizes keystrokes. I'm looking at creating a small EXE that would issue ScrLk + ScrLk + 1 to automatically switch the KVM to port #1 of the KVM every time the key is pressed (executable run). I would love to control the KVM directly from the keyboard instead of hitting the front KVM panel switches. Does anyone have a code snippet to be used as an example?

Unfortunately I don't think that wouldn't work.
A kvm switch monitors the keystrokes coming from the keyboard, the actual electrical signals, and doesn't receive any output from the computer. Emulating keystrokes to the o/s wouldn't generate the signal that actually pressing the key would.

Then again all the kvms I use at work aren't super nice. You might be able to find one that has an interface for it.
