Hello friends,
I am currently having a problem which I used to have and fixed but because of reformatting I am forced to face it once again and the only thing that stands in my way of fixing this problem is.. My memory! (my ability to recall, not my Random Access Memory :P (or atleast I hope not!))
When I play World of Warcraft, I get random freezes that can occur from 1 minute of flipping the game on, to an hour. It sometimes freezes with a high pitch sound, black screen, a freezed image or the computer will just reboot its self, but either way, I must stop playing and restart windows which happens alot and becomes very frustrating.
I can remember a few things from fixing it last time and I am preety sure it had to do with my chip set. I remember having to change something with either my VIA CPU to AGP controller or the VIA Standard CPU to PCI controller. (I got the information to fix the problem from a poster on some forum about a year ago.) I thought I had to go into the device manager to configure the option, but it doesent look like there are any options to change in there.. Very strange, I wish I could remember the option I had to change in the first place.
I'm afraid the problem is really bad, and disables me from playing this excellent game. I've found that many people have this problem and alot of these people have the VIA chipset.
I would greatly appreciate any help!
With metta,
Tristan
