Right now I'm having to use my mouse for character movement in FFXI, but I would like to use my keyboard. I've lost my quick ref manual, so I don't know how to toggle from mouse character movement to keyboard character movement. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I use the keyboard only, so I hope I can help.

Quick keylist (and what they do):
I use the standard keyboard settings (not compact)

TAB = open auto-translate menu; move arrow to target on screen
F1-F6 = target party members (corresponding to how they are listed in party)
F8 = Target nearest PC or NPC (can't remember which)
F9 = same as F8, one or the other
Ctrl+T = /tell
Ctrl+R = a /tell with the last person who sent you a /tell already inputted
Ctrl+L = linkshell chat
Ctrl+1-0 = control macros (hold down CTRL to view them)
Alt+1-0 = alt macros (hold down as above to manually select)
Arrow keys = control camera
PGUp = zoom in
PGDown = zoom out

This is for the control pad (far right side of keyboard):

/ = toggle walk/run
* = heal
- = open menu
+ = expand chat window; additional things
7 = toggle auto-run
8 = move character forward
9 = zoom camera in
4 = left
5 = toggle first-person view
6 = right
3 = i don't know
2 = move backwards
1 = zoom out
0 = target (just like TAB)

I'm sure these are not all of them, but these are the ones I use most. Hope that helps. :)
