Gif vid resizing?Follow

I'm trying to resize a vid gif to meet the requirements of sizing for avatar use but ever time I try it separates the gif into a whole group of images. I'm using ACDsee. Any help would be great.

I'm not familiar with the particular program you're using, so I'm unsure if it is even capable of resizing a gif.

I can tell you how to do it using gimp (an open source image editor), and it takes only a few seconds.

correct me if I'm wrong but a "vid gif" is simply just an animation of specified linked gif images. You will have to resize each individually, as if i recall correctly, its not technically 1 "file" per se, its however many images are needed to complete the animation then converted to a sequence gif file.

Macromedia Fireworks is a decent tool for creating animated Gifs.
-- you can find a guide here

Adobe Photoshop can create animated gifs as well
-- you can find a guide here (its a tad outdated, but I imagine the process is relatively the same.

Personally, I used to use Ulead GIF animator and Microangelo when i made animated GIF for websites i used to design.

The only free software that I can recall is Beneton Movie Gif but i've never used it so i cannot verify its features, ease of use or what have you.

You can resize each individually and then recompile them, but there are free programs (like gimp) that will automatically resize each individual image and compile them for you.

This is an originally 300x157 animated gif I found on the internet.

This is teh animated .gif scaled to 120x63 automatically with gimp.

The Paint Shop Pro animation shop will resize them as well as a whole image and not one frame at a time.

I don't know what tools you have available to you though but if you can link it in regular size, I'm sure someone hwere can resize it for you even if you can't.
