Now EQ1 won't patch, either!Follow

Does the world hate me? I have a new Windows Vista laptop, and I was playing EQII for awhile and now it's not patching properly! It gets to 30-50 seconds and cancels and I can't play. So I installed EQ1, and it won't get past the beginning patch (before it has the graphics and what not) and says
"Error could not download to file

Please ReRun EverQuest.exe to try again."

I've done it like a billion times now. I went to the site support where it gave a link to try and download a .zip file to help, but then the .zip file won't open on my compture. "Access denied" or something.

Ugh, worst day of my life lol. Please hellpp meee. :,(
