Wireless Network Connection Icon Not found!Follow

Hope someone can asisst with this problem...

Installed a USB wireless network adaptor which my WinXP SP2 has detected and successfully installed the drivers for...

yet... there is no "wireless network connection icon" to be found under "Network Connections"...

have already checked under device manager and shows wireless network adaptor is working properly. Also checked under My Computer-> Manage -> service and applications -> services -> wireless Zero connection... Started!

any input as to how i can make the notorious Icon to appear so I may configure my wireless network will be greatly appreciated.

You could try the following KB. It was written for Windows 2000 but most of it also applies to Windows XP and Vista.

Here's a quick summary of something to try from that article.

Locate netcfgx.dll, netman.dll, and netshell.dll. Assuming they live in your C:\Windows\System32, start a command prompt and type the following 3 commands:
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\netcfgx.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\netman.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\netshell.dll
