Are any of you posting from work like me?
If so does your boss care?
If he/she don't know how do you keep it from him/her?

When I'm not in the middle of thinking up some crazy algorithm for C++/Java, I'm between this site and others. If my mentor walks by, I simply minimize the screen and pretend to be looking at some code or something.

Funny thing is, I have definitely walked in the office and saw him minimize what looks to be a **** site, so I guess I never really could get in trouble:)

Everyone in the office takes care of their business, so it isn't a big problem.

Why do you want to know? Who do you report to?

Is this a set up? Is this THE MAN?

I thought this thread would be about those posters of sailboats that say "Inspiration" or maybe that cat hanging from the branch.

I post from work as well. I have "special" priveleges at work. Smiley: grin So no, boss doesn't care. I'm sure if he found my **** stash though...that'd be a different matter.

You people have jobs? I find that very hard to believe.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I post from work...

My boss would prefer I did more work...

I prefer my boss to mind her own business because I get everything done and then some...

Um... no comment...

Wha'? Nothing! Just working on... some research - why? I'll be right with you!

Note to those who think minimizing the screen when the boss walks in does anything - usually by the time you've minimized it, they've seen the screen long enough to know 2 things:
1) It's not work.
2) It's not ****.

#1 - Almost everyone with internet access at work does some non-work related internet stuff. If you're getting your job done, then in most cases, it's overlooked.
#2 - Get caught doing this and it can't be overlooked. Don't do it.

I'm at work right now.

But I don't start posting till I have all my core task for the day completed.

Boss doesn't care, so long as all the work get's done in a timely fashion.

Yes I post 90% of the time from work. The entire staff of the Baltimore Civil War Museum posts from work the boss is all for it.

I like the inspirational posters as well Jophiel. But the ones here at work all show scenes of the "Pratt St. Riot", or the "Massacre at Baltimore".

I post from work some of the time, now that I've started working again. My boss doesn't really mind in the first place, as long as the work gets done, our downtime can be used surfing...except when a high muckity muck is about, then we have to look busy.

Not that any of that really matters. I work 6pm-3am. Supervision? What supervision? I'll only see my upper management if they stay late.

LOL. Thanks to the Army, this site is blocked at work, as are the majority of EQ sites. I have my homepage set to EQCleric.com though. Take that Uncle Sam!

Edit: My NCOIC does NOT care...he has a 58 monk that I group with on a regular basis :)

I work at Warner Brothers Studios, and on the weekends do nothing but sit in a visitors center, and surf the net. Very boring, but at least I get to get my supply of information and game on days off.

I get paid merely to show up to work, anything I actually do is a bonus!

I even manage to play EQOA at work... well, my boss is playing FFXI so he couldn't care less.

....... Perks of working at a video game company.

My boss cares.....sometimes. The blue screen is a definite indicator that I'm not working. If there were only random Excel graphs just on the site.
