My dad recently sent me that email rumor about the Swiffer Wet-Jet killing pets. My husbands mother also sent him that information a few weeks ago and even called us up to make sure we didn't kill our pets by using our Swiffer.
At the time, I didn't think anything of it. I'm not a fan of mopping anyway, so, not mopping for a while didn't bother me any. Didn't really believe it any, but didn't mind not mopping. :)
But I figured, since my dad just sent me that message... I'd look into it, especially since when I actually read it (as opposed to just being told the gist of it by my husband) a few things didn't sound right to me. (I'm a veterinary student.)
So, I looked it up today on the internet, figuring if it was a hoax or true, there'd be information out there (gotta love the internet).
I found: ASPCA Message
And: Snopes debunking of it
And I found it very easily (yahoo.com, search for: swiffer + liver). Even more ... dismaying, is the fact that in the same search that I found the snopes article, I found people "passing on the word!" in bulletin boards and message boards.
Just how gullible IS most of the worlds population? And.. if you're on the freaking internet to post about the "information" anyway, why don't you do some research before you sound like an uninformed moran. ;)
