I was excited about FFXIV, but after reading the worst reviews I have ever read I have decided to pass on the Asian Vanguard.

I got banned for nothing during the great RMT witch-hunt in FFXI. I had several gardening mules, which was one of the triggers for their amazing new automated ban program. After 3 months of arguing with them to allow me to reinstate my account, during which I was never allowed to talk to someone who could actually help accomplish that, I give up on SE.

Meh, I'm having too much fun oldschool ************** I think I'll wait until SE polishes the game up a little more before I want to play it.

I'm just hoping they add an AH or search function. I plan on taking it slow with this game and really enjoying all there is to do. Waiting for a bit might not be a bad idea to be honest. I'm sure its going to be a great game but there are still a few key things missing.

None at all. They want people to sell their stuff like actual merchants, adds to the fantasy or something. It's gonna be like Ragnarok Online with 100+ spambots telling you to look at their bazaar.

I'm playing on Saronia. My character name is Punk Floyd but I can also be recognized my constant running into walls as I try to relearn how to move due to the different keyboard settings.

It's this kind of **** why I will never play FFXIV. What SE imagines and what actually works in an MMO are two entirely different things.

I don't know that they said there wouldn't be an AH at all. There's just not one now.

They said it wouldn't be available at release, but would be implemented later.

XI didn't have one at launch either; I think they added it in the first or second patch. I expect them to do the same here.

There wouldn't be much use for the AH for a while anyway, eh?

Meh, the AH in XI only worked so well anyway, since there was really only 1-2 possible items to use at any given level. If their equipment system is more varied in XIV, however, then maybe it will matter by the time they get the first patch (I assume a larger number of people will be hitting the 20s and 30s by then).

I played the Beta, it was okay, I shall wait and see if they clean it up in 6 months, then maybe give it another shot. The graphics are great though!

And Nadenu FYI, its called EQ, not EQ1. :)
