If you ever wanted to come to San Diego, you should come in February 2011.

100th Anniversary Parade of Flight and North Island Open House
Date: February 12, 2011
Time: All day – Gates Open 8am/Parade of Flight Begins 1pm
Location: Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI), Coronado, California

Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) welcomes all to participate in the Centennial of Naval Aviation’s kickoff event on February 12, 2011. Watch Navy, Marine and Coast Guard aircraft, from pre-WWI to the present Blue Angels F/A-18 jets, as they parade over San Diego Bay. Enjoy this spectacular aerial review from the NASNI show center, which offers the best vantage point. On the ground, guests are encouraged to view 75+ historic static aircraft, antique car displays, Metal Mulisha motorcycle jump demonstrations and LIVE entertainment. Tour the Navy’s USS John C. Stennis aircraft carrier and an LHD, second only to a carrier in size and aircraft capacity. This Celebration of Naval Aviation kickoff event is open to the public — admission and parking are free.

It's being billed as the largest fly over ever done by the military.

I'm already booking rooms on Coronado Island so we don't have to deal with the horrendous traffic that is going to jam up that little island.

But you should come! I promise to clear the area of spiders.

You can't promise that, I hear they are handing out little spiders with wings to each guest.

Not to mention the fact that some spiders can fly faster than the speed of sound probably.

It's fitting because I just got word that this:

Shipped today! (tiny indoor fully colllective pitch helicopter!!!!)

So I could sneak it out there and join the flyover.

I want to say that they're celebrating 100 years of Naval aviation and not the boat aspect, hence, the whole array of early aircraft to present.

If I don't get a room on Coronado Island, we'll just book rooms across the harbor and then ferry or water tax across.

Oddly enough, I'm excited for this and I try to avoid the normal air shows like the plague.
