First house (owned, not rented). Took some doing to get the mortgage with all the new rules, but it's done, inspection complete moving in a month and a half.
Yeah, as soon as I get them hosted somewhere. Little tired. Got the financing to finally go through about 8 hours before the 7 day deadline, today there was an assessment and a house inspection. It's been a crazy busy day.
Yeah, I'll probably settle down when I've got a permanent job and stuff. Which isn't gonna happen in the next decade, anyway, so I'm not too worried about it now. Generally I hope (and would prefer) to be able to spend at least 4 months a year overseas even if I have my own place, that's why I am studying my butt off, really.
Rent rooms in the house out and avoid the soul-crushing lack of spare money

"We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary." — James D. Nicoll
All of that was factored in as extra cash when you made the decision of whether or not you can afford the house, right?
My mortgage and property tax come in $100 less than my current rent, which I was paying while saving twice my rent per month. $100 covers my house insurance and life insurance so the kids aren't homeless if I DIAF. I can afford the house, twice, and still have repair and maintenance money.
