I want a dog.Follow

#27 Mar 03 2011 at 1:18 PM Rating: Decent
I like small schnauzers and yorkshires. I had both. The schnauzer was very protective and loving, while being small enough for a house, and big enough to rough it up a little while playing. The yorkshire is so cute and wants to sleep on us all the time, and won't move until we do.

I'm also in an epic struggle to convince my wife that we should get a Basset Hound. Stay strong, sister.

I will say that one advantage to having a dog is that it's a source of fresh meat in the event of an apocalypse.

Stir fry doesn't require a lot of meat.

And warmth. And as a companion (in both meanings of the word).

Get a cat. They're cuter and require far less maintanence.

I'm not that much of a cat person.

If the hubby doesn't want a dog? I have to wonder about kids? Taking care of a dog in a marriage is a shared job no matter how you spell it. It's a responsibility and if you want one and are willing to handle its care and cleanup by yourself. Then it will all be on you. I'd suggest getting 2 cute litter trained kittens. You only have to feed, water, and clean the litter box. The damage and cleanup is less than a dog and the entertainment and love is as much and more. If the hubby refuses cats then I would worry about things in general.

We aren't having kids, and I want a dog, not a cat.

That was easy!

Edit: Finding an English subbed version of that sucked. Ugly, you may or may not want to click that, as it's from an anime.

A dog won't talk back to you.
Oh, you think so, do you?

That looks more like "Why are you touching me?" than love.

Get it, and it will probably grow on your husband.

My mother begged my dad for years to get a little chihuahua. He didn't like the idea. Eventually he caves and lets her buy one. Now my mom complains that the dog likes him more than her. My dad has a tendency to just sit in the living room and fall asleep while watching TV, and the dog will hop up on the couch next to him and just sleep all day.

I seriously doubt that. I had a German Shepard too and that face always led to the hand gnaw/push away combo.

Yes but she can leave her 4 y.o. locked up in a kennel for hours or in a car with the window cracked while she run to the store and no one will report her to DSS...
