Now that I am single, I am eventually going to start dating. It has been 9yrs since I have been on an actual date. I have been out of the game for so long, I'm not sure if I still know how! I need tips. I need to know what to do and what not to do. What are some of the things that annoy you about your dates? What are some of the things you like? OOT, I need your help!

You could try being yourself and just doing what comes natural. I feel it's counterproductive to do anything else unless your goal is to sleep with him/her. Not that there's anything wrong with aiming for penetration.

However if you enjoy the miserable 3ish month mark where you both realize you've been pretending to be something you're not then feel free to be on your P's and Q's.

I haven't dated since '89, so I don't think I can help you on this one.

On a slightly related note, you should post a pic. If not in this thread, then this one, please.

To a point. Peeing with the door open, for example, probably isn't good on a first date.

Like what Kaain said, just be yourself. And accept that not every meet & greet or date is going to end up well. And avoid any trash-talking of the ex, even if your date trashes his ex.

What's your game plan on how you're going to meet people? Networking, blind dates, speed dating, etc.?

I haven't really gotten that far yet. I am just toying around with the idea of meeting someone right now. I still have a lot of issues to work through. There's really no where to meet someone here unless I want to go to a bar or pick someone up at the mall... I don't see that happening.

I dunno, dating's always seemed awkward and artificial to me, and so I've avoided it.

My advice? Learn to enjoy being alone, forever.

It's easier to meet people if you put yourself into the mindset that you're NOT going somewhere with the specific intention to meet someone. That way, you're relaxed and it's easier to strike up a conversation or smile at someone without the expectation of "where is this going...."

I'd actually look into a club or group related to a hobby or interest you have with no intention of dating at first. You'll get some quality "me-time" in, and if you do meet someone interesting there, you've got a guarantee of at least one thing in common.

I met my husband through anime club.

And it also gets you back into just the social groove and see how social interacting has changed since before you were married.

Right now don't close your self up just don't think you have to try and find some one new and let it happen naturally. Like everyone else said just be your self you've got a pretty smile and big brown eyes, Good luck =)
