Westvleteren will be available in my neck of the woods next month! I am counting down the days. I haven't tried Pliny the Younger yet, but Pliny the Elder is superb.

Happy birthday!

I had the opportunity to buy some Pliny The Elder, but I don't like hop bombs so it'd probably be a waste of money for me.
The Westvleteren 12 was great btw, not worth the extra cost over a Rochefort 10 or St Bernardus 12 aside from special occasions though.

And I've still got some really special beers to look forward to. ^^

Happy birthday, Aeth! Don't get too wasted.

And if you do, drunk posting's always an option.

I loves me some Rochefort 8. I'm so excited about Westvleteren because I can't get it in my area and I will try all the Trappist beers before I depart this mortal coil or die trying.

Do you see the greensward abutting upon my domicile? You appear to be treading upon it. Begone, varlet!

The shot angle on the photo I used for your DingartTM made you look taller. Funny that, eh?

I only have fancy expensive beers right now, getting drunk off of those would be a waste.

I can only get it here through Marktplaats (Dutch Ebay like site) or for even more inflated prices in one or two stores.

Achel, sells Blonde (8% ABV), Brune (8% ABV), Extra Blonde (8% ABV), Extra Brune (8% ABV).
Chimay sells Red Label (dark, 7% ABV), White Label (Blonde/Tripel, ABV 8%) and Blue Label (dark, 9% ABV).
Koningshoeven sells:-
La Trappe Blond (6.5% ABV)
La Trappe Dubbel (7% ABV)
La Trappe Isid'or (7.5% ABV)
La Trappe Tripel (8% ABV)
La Trappe Quadrupel (10% ABV)
La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged (10% ABV)
La Trappe Witte Trappist (5.5% ABV)
La Trappe Bockbier (7% ABV) (Seasonal)
La Trappe PUUR (4.7% ABV) (organic)
Orval sells a "unique"[9] dry hopped 6.2% amber ale.
Rochefort sells three dark ales, "6" (7.5% ABV). "8" (9.2% ABV) and "10" (11.3% ABV).
Westmalle sells Dubbel (7% ABV) and Tripel (9.5% ABV),
Westvleteren sells Green Cap or Blonde, (5.8% ABV), Blue Cap (dark, 8% ABV) and Yellow Cap (dark, 10.2% ABV).

I'm almost there. I think the Achel extras are going to be the hardest as I've never seen them anywhere (and the lolwiki copypasta doesn't seem to have them written down correctly. There's also bruin 5 and blond 5 but I think those are only sold at the abbey brewery itself so I'll ignore those.)
I'm rather lucky that I can get pretty much any Rochefort, Orval, Westmalle, La Trappe and Chimay in my local liquor store.

My parents had leftover booze from some event, and they chose to drop off some ****** beer with me.

I guess I could have just given it to a group of homeless guys.

I can get Rochefort, Orval, Westmalle, and Chimay here in Southern California. The Rochefort 8 and Westmalle Dubbel are my favorites.

Westvleteren is going to make a number of gift boxes available next month. I don't know the specifics but understand it will be a goblet and a couple bottles. Also, there's a distributer in Texas that's working on a deal that will make Westvleteren available to the U.S. market. I hope that comes to fruition.

The Koningshoeven "La Trappe" beers are here in the U.S. to some extent but I've never found any yet.

Pretty much the only thing on my bucket list is a Belgian beer tour. That's when I'll have the Achel.

Those neat box sets are going to cost you a pretty penny from what I've heard. If you manage to get one before they're sold out that is.

Happy Urmomkickedyououtofyourfirstapartmentday.

I will go home and drink some vodka for you, only beer in my house right now is a 6pack of bud-light my friend left at my house. I use it to throw at opossums that decide to chill in my yard.

Bud light is pretty much just water right?
From what I've heard, Dutch Heineken beers are tasty compared to Stuff like Coors and Bud, not to mention the light version. And Dutch Heineken is barely drinkable ****.

I'm currently drinking an amazing beer, eating fancy cheese (hmmm blue cheese and fig bread) and meat and listening to great music. I'm ok with it going a little downhill from this.

This is pretty much my perfect day. Sadly the LCBO near me doesn't stock to much belgian beer nowadays but I do have This for my beer needs.

Eh, I'm just as jealous/sad that I can't get beers from Dogfishhead, Rogue, Stone, Founders, Three Floyds, Russian River and other great American breweries and it's loads easier to get Belgians in the US than it is to get US brews around here. (aside from a select few breweries)

On a sidenote, I've got a bottle of Pannepot Vintage 2005 waiting for me. (as well as a Cuvee Delphine) Smiley: grin
