I was talking to some of you about this just now and apparently it's an organisation that's still not very well known, so linky.
I joined the local chapter today after finally finding out when and where their meetings are because they had a larger event. The speaker they invited was barefoot (yay), told amazing stories of all these places and generally I've learned that the world needs more toilets.
There was also beer (which I didn't drink).
I think it's important that people know about this because this is a charity that provides long-term solutions to problems that need them where organisations such as DWB can only provide more immediate aid, which is of course valuable but won't fix anything. Infrastructure, clean water, sanitation, solutions for improving agriculture etc. (which is basically what EWB provide) improve the quality of life for people who really need that in the long term.
So... donate so I can go to Cambodia or something next year for charity? Or maybe so that the people in Cambodia can have better access to drinking water. Also, other countries (it just happens that my university's chapter is going there this year).
