If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?
24.

Basically if I don't go into aid work (which will make having babies difficult unless I find someone with the same contractor and we get some kinda joint contract), I'll finish my education by 2019 if everything goes by plan. I could certainly afford having kids before then, but I really want to learn something different while I'm being a mum (like PUNJABI).

I've got two marriage proposals pending at the moment, more or less - one of them will soon earn money, if all else fails in Pakistan, the other is already earning a decent family income. I'm just not in the right place to consider either right now.

PigtailsOfDoom wrote:
For me that's only a small part of the issue. It's mostly about money. I have no intention of bringing a child into this world when I can barely afford to take care of myself as it is. I think that's incredibly irresponsible.

See above, that'd not even be a problem. Going to rural parts of Somalia or Cambodia for a few months randomly? That's more of an issue.

There's also the part where I really don't want to be dependent on a guy unless I get a Punjabi or Islamic Studies degree out of it and after I'm finished with my current stuff, but if I happened to get pregnant that'd be less of an issue.

Woot! Mine was a December baby as well. Would be cool if yours was born on the same day as mine. (December 6th)

Congo-rats! FYI: the closer to Christmas you deliver, the more your child will resent you. As most people are cheap and will either combine birthday and Christmas items, or skip out one or the other. And usually Jesus's birthday wins over yours.

Yup, my grandma's birthday is the 23rd. She's almost 80 and she still gets pissy about it. Smiley: lol

I don't generally unfriend people, ever. I honestly have no idea how that happened. PM me your FB or something, please?

I was just thinking about that. My wife probably logged in on mine and removed you, as she has done before with others. She says it's because she feels threatened by my Facebook friends who are female who she thinks look prettier than her Smiley: rolleyes. I will re-ad you because I love reading status updates from awesome people Smiley: grin

Tell your wife that it's stupid to be insecure about things like that. Especially when it's a woman who lives halfway across the world.

My brother's bday is December 19th and mine's Jan 5th. My parents always went out of their way to make our birthdays special. Most of my family, as a result, treated Christmas and birthdays as completely separate and very distinct things. You just had ****** parents.

My parents were great about avoiding making gifts combined and lame(Dec 22 here, btw), but everyone else...not so much.

Kuwoobie, maybe you can suggest, politely of course, that a healthier way of dealing with those jealousies is to instead try to friend those same women. I will be honest, I can understand being wary of a bunch of random Internet women on a husband's FaceBook. I don't think she's dealing with it in a healthy way, but who am I to judge? Maybe her last boyfriend cheated on her with some random Internet chick.

Her last husband did, yes. Several times. I'm actually her first relationship with someone who hasn't and won't cheat on her.
