So I originally posted a thread in Kirby's journal about a job I applied for a few months ago (four positions, two departments). Unfortunately, it looks like his premium ran out or he was banned and his journal doesn't exist right now. I was selected and interviewed for the position but ultimately did not get it since people with many more years of policy experience were selected. Two weeks ago, one of the ladies that got the job approached me and told me that a position she applied for was currently contacting her references. She informed me that she was telling our supervisor that I should replace her because she thought I was the most qualified individual. Turns out two others in the same role and my sup also thought the same. I will be filling the position in a trial type period while the department figures in which way they will fill the position permanently.
Since the selection process was completed about two months ago, I assume that eventually, he should be told that he can select from the same pool of applicants and assuming I am impressive (I am), I will get the job. Obviously I'm getting way ahead of myself. I have no idea how this will pan out since we're talking about public sector jobs. The position does pay an extra ten grand a year and would look amazing on my resume. It would also increase my potential of changing into a federal department in the future, which would license me to finally get the fizuck out of Wisconsin.
