Yeah, but the difference is negligent!

Also, if fish aren't animals, what are they, ghosts?

I bet sushi makes you feel icky too.

Whatever. More for me.

I have no problem with sushi. That's why I said "animals" and not food.

Nope you clearly said food not animals. And seeing as fish are animals yes people do eat raw animals without cooking. His comment about sushi makes complete sense in both the context he is eating uncooked food and raw animals. Preparing sushi doesn't automatically mean 0 possibility of getting sick, it is less likely if prepared correctly. no different than if you cook a rare steak correctly.

Cooking food doesn't automatically mean 0 possibility of getting sick either, that wasn't the point. You fail to differentiate a "rare steak" from "raw meat".

There is a huge difference between eating prepared sushi at a restaurant and going down to the river and eating raw live fish, you know like animals do, you know the comparison being made. Vultures and insects eat dead carcasses lying in the dirt and on the side of the road, I'm assuming that he doesn't do that either. So, you can't be making comparisons that we should eat like animals when you, yourself, choose to eat like humans.

Neither do beavers, narwhals, snakes, shrews, river otters, bullfrogs, red-tailed hawks or star-nose moles. Someone tell those critters that they're not eating like animals!

That said, humans almost exclusively get their meat through carrion of a sort since we rarely live-kill our prey and eat it immediately. It's just a higher class of carrion than the ravens get.

Technically speaking, most carnivores eat carrion, unless they ingest the entire prey before it actually dies.

I think we can make a distinction between "freshly killed" and "killed a week ago". Humans (at least throughout the western world) are more more likely to consume the latter than the former.

So Vegans don't eat like animals? Diet doesn't dictate whether we are animals or human, our genetic coding does. By your own point our pets are no longer animals, My dog doesn't eat raw meats like the wolves she evolved from, she eats processed foods. You always say people either don't understand you or choose to ignore your points, Your points and comments are either overly specific and ignore other factors or are so vague it is up to interpretation.

Also, I have eaten raw, fresh water mussels that I pulled out of the river, five seconds prior, and lived to tell the tale.

I'm such an ANIMAL!

Assuming you're being sardonic as usual, I was never making a claim that there was a "right" way of eating, however, the exact opposite. The fundamental reasons on why we eat what we eat are based on our bodies and the environments we live in. So, therefore, it is rarely accurate to make a comparison to animals and "what they eat", because they are different.

You are just supporting my point. Those mentioned animals do NOT eat the same way as other animals, so how can you make a comparison to "eat like animals" when the animals themselves do not eat the same way? Answer: You can't, so stop making stupid comparisons between humans and animals.

You have just gave the perfect example of you clearly not understanding. My entire argument is based on that we are inherently different from our body composition and environment, so therefore like comparisons are invalid. I have no idea how you inferred the nonsense that you just wrote.

And the cutting makes all of the difference in reference to his comparison to humans and animals. Thank you.
