Our tree went up on Tuesday and it's been decorated 10 times now.

So, every year there's a debate on whether or not there's an "attack on Christmas". I haven't seen any threads on this for awhile. What say ye?

I see one!! Right there, right there! Look! Do you see it?

I don't make tea out of anything I find in my carpet fibers so I couldn't tell you.

We got ours over the weekend, because the holiday starts earlier every year, and the dog has already tried to pee on it, so we had to put a gate around it. On side note, it was something else for the wife and daughter to decorate so it worked out in the end.

This reads to me like you were trying to find a way to have the dog pee on your wife and daughter.

Unless you're buying really awful trees, there should be some needles still left on the tree.

I would never do that as far as you know.

I saw sign today that didn't say "Christmas tree" or "Holiday tree", but simply "tree". That's really PC! Next the tree huggers will complain about promoting harm towards trees!

This time of year I am a bigger jerk then normal. I feel bad for my gf but it ends second week of Janurary.

Happy Holidays I thought was for the differing holidays not for x-mas and new years but whatever. Don't like it dont wish me happy holidays or merry christmas.

Convinced my gf to not return the "black" fake christmas tree we got. Told her "its just a really dark green baby". Down side: next year I need to put up lights and other crap.

Like all good farming methods they feed partly on the corpses of their predecessors.

I'm a little afraid to ask, but why are you more of an *** during the holidays...? And why does your girlfriend stay with you?

It was a "tree lighting"... which made me think, is it really that serious? Buddha doesn't change into "Big jolly guy" because I'm not Buddhist. It's still Buddha and it's still a Christmas tree. If it were simply a "holiday tree", we would have it up for Valentines Day, Easter, MLK, etc. Are there other holidays that use "Christmas trees"?

This thread pops up like clockwork, it is almost like I can set my watch to it so I know when to buy christmas presents...

Say what you want, it doesn't bother me, You are jewish? say Happy Hanukkah, You are Christian? just say Merry Christmas. Celebrate Kwanza say happy Kwanza.. or whatever the proper way is. I am just responding back with "you too! and be safe", Generic response without endorsing any specific belief and you dont look like a **** for saying "How dare you wish me a blah blah blah". Bonus points for not being spoken to on the job for pushing a belief system on a customer.

When I was a kid loved Christmas. Got a little older and I wrapped gifts, got a little older still and passed that on to my younger brother. Then I just hated this time of year. Still don't really understand why. I don't go out of my way to ruin anyones festivities, but it happens.

Beyond me. She says I am normally a sweet guy. I am honest and blunt, don't see how that makes me sweet. She is polar opposite then me though this time of year. We are just clashing as it is our first holiday as a couple. Known each other for 3 years almost 4.

Yeah that pisses me off too. How you gonna feed me a bag of peanuts with 5 peanuts then charge me 3 dollars for a 4oz cup of soda.

I blame the anger on the time of year

I'm pretty sure I get a free 12oz can of Soda each time I fly, and I only ever do short 1-3hr hops, airport to airport type things, cheap seats. The only thing they ever charge for is snacks and booze.

I usually flew first class but that was paid for by my company or family.

Been getting like 4-5 hrs of sleep a night. Work in a warehouse, alone on my shift, and gf had foot surgery so I am taking her to class three mornings a week. I still remember some airline charging me for my sodas one of the three times I flew coach.

Just because the origin of a celebration may be mythic or legendary, I don't see why I should try and write it out of social history, or my present culture. There's good bits in the Christ story, and it's a great excuse for some mass family gatherings, and general giving and goodwill. As long as you don't tell me I'm going to hell, I'm not going to start pulling out archaeological and historical evidence on you. Let's smile at each other, wish each other well, and have a good time.

Now quote where I said the warehouse I work at now is the same company I worked when I flew.
