Not enough pain with the noodle. Bamboo has its applications though. Split the ends and tap at end of the split. Fun times. Fun times.

Well, December rolled around and I had experienced a wonderful Thanksgiving. I appreciate my friends and the help they give me.
Living in a small town is not always easy or fun. I'm happy that
nearly everyone treats me as a Woman rather than "EEEW is that
a Man?' crap that sometimes happens. Being Transgendered sometimes
can be hard on you and can be dangerous for your health and well-
being. Thankfully work has settled down and after the visit with their
lawyer and assistant head of HR. They stopped calling me names that
I didn't need like "Sir and man."

I had done my finances and things looked good for a nice Christmas. With an extra 400 dollars worth of overtime in the paycheck. Things
were looking like I was going to get several people presents and such.
I also had my Bi-Annual visit with my special doctor lined up. Finding
any doctor these days that will deal with and help Transgendered is
becoming harder and harder. I now drive 300 miles round trip to
see one that specializes in T-Girls.

The morning of my scheduled trip to my doctor my old truck died! With a pop and a sigh it stopped running the morning of my scheduled trip. Thank god my girlfriend was able to come with me and let me drive her
car there. I had one of the local reliable repair shops pick up my truck and check it out. The news was that my Timing chain had broke along with the balancer for my Truck. (Ouch!) Now normally I could have fixed it
by myself but I had called them to handle it because I could not leave my truck sitting in a business's parking lot for over a day. (Tow company's love to jack your truck/car) Anyways, I now had to come up with a Balancer for a 65 Pontiac engine. Not one yard in the area has any old cars these days. Thankfully I moderate another forum and It's car related and one of the other Moderators sent me one for free! (I'm very grateful for that)

The balancer went to the shop and I caught rides to and from work as they got around to fixing my truck. You begin to appreciate that people
can and do help others. After all my Co-Workers could have gone and said 'F that ***** and let her walk or loose her job!" But no one did and
several people helped me. Also, one great help was that finally I had health insurance that my Specialist would take. 25 dollars instead of 100+ for a visit was a godsend. Now my doctor has me do 2 visits 2 times a year. First is for tests. Yep they vampire lots of blood from me.
The second is where she reads me the results. Then the Riot act about my life. "No more sugar, Exercise, Ect...." and then she renews my HRT.

After visit #2 (My friend drove me again) I got my Meds and paid for them. The next day they called that my truck was done. I now wonder if the owner has some uncanny ability to know just how much money a person has? Because when he handed me the bill it was for exactly all the money I had left for Christmas. I paid and was a bit bummed out about it. My friend that was there with me smiled. When we got back home she said. "Do you have food for the month?" " Yes" I answered.
"Are your bills all paid?" She asked. "Yes" I again answered. She looked at me and again smiled. "Christmas is not all about presents and gifts.
Be thankful that you have everything covered. Everyone will understand if you can't give them presents this year. They all know about your Truck and such. " She stated.

I thought about it and realized she was right. No one would be upset or angry if I didn't give them presents this year. I really had hoped to do so. But, work is presently trying to kill us with excess overtime. Perhaps after January first when I'm paid again I can give them all something to say thanks and I doubt any of them will be upset over getting late gifts from me.

Have a Merry Christmas Everyone!

We went to a hibachi grill for Christmas eve dinner with my son and his gf. I'd not been to one in at least 25 years and it was the first time either of the youngster had been to one. It was a lot of fun.

My daughter was not home for x-mas. Smiley: frown

My favorite gift I received was this Lawn Buddy - I feel like it should come with a lawn gnome to chauffeur me around the yard.

Is there no overlap in the two activities?

Try going to an event and see how true this is.

Ha, no kidding! SCA and pirate events are practically orgies. I wouldn't be surprised if LARPing events were similar. And people think nerds never get laid...

Man, I'm late to this thread.

I figure I'll post my loots anyways.

Johnny Walker black label
Assorted jumpers and cardigans
Stormtrooper Dressing Gown(which is f*cking awesome)
Tetris light.

I've been working most of the holidays selling PCs and Tablets to people who have no idea what they're asking for. So. Annoying.

For me (and my brother, and my nephew) it was also a birthday thing, so got a couple movies, a few gift certificates, and a few items of clothes. Pretty much the usual. Although my mom got me a pretty nice carving knife. So clearly I need to cook more stuff that requires carving. Also, this year Christmas was at the flaky sisters house (famous for arriving 2 hours late one year with an uncooked lamb, and the time she made tofu pie instead of pumpkin, and the time she went on a "no sugar" kick and made some kind of berry-based pie that was completely inedible, the time she cleared the already made and waiting for her to arrive for an hour or so table to have room to make the salad she'd brought, etc, etc, etc...). I knew things were going to go slow when I called saying I'd be late (was supposed to be there at 3, which is already a bit late), and she said that others wouldn't be arriving until like 4:30. Then around 4:15 (still being the only person there), interrupted her clearing the mass of stuff off the dining room table to ask "aren't you cooking a ham?".

Ah yes. Good times!

For me though, this years fun was less about what I got than what I gave. Got all the info and mass of paperwork done just in time for Christmas, and was able to open up college funds for my nieces, nephews, and goddaughter. Spent about half the money I got back from the IRS and felt great doing it. It's not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, but every bit helps.

This year, we all mainly focused on making sure we had a great feast doe the holidays, so we piled most of our cash into top notch food, wine and beer. The centrepiece was a turkey-goose-pheasant three bird roast, interspersed with succulent pork stuffing.

My own haul was cool: some tools, board games, and cash. I also got a really neat Shenmue hoodie: http://www.insertcoinclothing.com/hoodies/hazuki-tiger.html
