I'm sure there are many more relevent places for this question, but these are the only forums i ever use online, and this IS the off topic thread afterall...
I am currently using the Adobe Reader because i have a school textbook in .pdf formart, which is almost 800 pages long. I am quite unfamiliar with using the adobe reader soo i dont really know all the different things it is capable of performing. One too I have found usefull is the one that lets you Highlight text, which helps me for keeping notes on the important stuff, what im wondering however is if there is a way to go directly to a highlighted section of text, cause when i close then program, and reopen it later, with over 800 pages it gets pretty damn hard to find that highlighted text if i dont remember the rough page number its on!

You won't be able to do that in Adobe Reader, you'll need Adobe Acrobat or a third party program that lets you bookmark pages in PDF files.
Here is one that lets you edit PDF files so you can make bookmarks.
This one supplies a plugin that can be used to enable basic bookmarking in Adobe Reader.

They actually finally did add native bookmark functionality to reader under version XI http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/features.html

This little program, Calibre, lets you convert text files to whatever format you want. I have a nook so I use .epub - notes, highlighting and bookmarking is super easy.
Edit to add, most the readers for the different formats are free programs as well and run swimmingly on a pc (basically nook and kindle programs).

I've been using Calibre for the last year now with my kobo, I had no idea you could convert files........You are my new hero Elinda.
