My Daughters birthday is on St. Patrick's Day so this year she actually gets her party on her birthday, I just don't know if I should stay sober so I can remember her 7th year of present opening. Or if I should get **** drunk to honor my ancestors.. well the non-Arab ones... and be able to put up with my nephews who are the devils children.
Start drinking early at a steady pace. Then get ******** when she goes to sleep.

This actually is a serious reply. The alcohol evaporates so all you're really left with is the taste, so it's the best of both worlds.

If it goes right she'll be so tired she'll get totally zoned into it, and with no mess to clean up you can spend the evening making up for lost time.

Because if you want to get drunk it's kind of a waste to only drink craft beer. After a while you won't really taste much anymore anyway.

Our house, We have a large play room for the kids, we usually have the party at the house because 1. cheaper 2... cheaper... I normally setup my way too many video game systems to the tv's and monitors in the room so the kids can play what they want, Some of the adults that show up end up playing games too purely for memories as kids since I still have all my systems working from my atari and after. Plus we have a large backyard and a huge swingset so the kids can get tired out there, HOPEFULLY it doesnt decide to snow well into march, but if it does the kids can go sledding too.

My daughter has seen me drinking but I drink 1-2 beers max when I do and don't drink all that often, I honestly wont have more than 5-6 beers over the whole day, she knows beer is for adults.

I agree completely on this. To stick with the irish theme we picked up some Killian's Irish Red and Guinness.
You should teach the kids early about St Patrick's day anyway. I suppose you can bend the rules a bit with birthday cake, but it should be corned beef and cabbage. Then some more corned beef and cabbage. And some soda bread, and some more soda bread. And Jameson's, start mixed in coffee with heavy cream, then just kinda drink it straight later on. Beer should really not be involved at all, even (or especially depending on what Irish you're hanging with) Guinness. Oh. And black and tans are right out.
Get her used to this ritual now, and it wont be like a surprise to her later. Just kinda something that's done at that time of year.

I jokingly told my wife I was going to make Corned Beef and Cabbage, she told me with no with the anger only a spanish woman can muster. Her family is Cuban so almost every party ends up with pulled pork, black beans/rice, garbanzo soup and whatever guava pastries they decided to bring. We are going to settle somewhere in the middle and order pizza.

Tell her she needs to be more accepting of multiculturalism or something. Well made corned beef and cabbage is freaking delicious! Admittedly, poorly made it's bland as hell. Honestly, Cuban food is more subtle in flavor as it is (as opposed to other more spicy Latin fare). I suspect she'd actually enjoy the spices of a good corned beef if she were exposed to it. Sadly, making it right is an art form that's increasingly being lost. A wrong that really ought to be righted.
