When are you going to merge all the dead FFXI forums?
We already did merge a bunch of them. More of them will probably be done whenever the FXIV ones also get looked at. It isn't an easy process the way the forum is set up.

How many sockpuppet accounts have I had over the years(noting that I haven't bothered with one for quite some time), and what were they called?
Also, do Varus or Proof ever still make socks and just get banned before being able to post?
Varus yes, Proof no, and you had around 11 sockpuppets. I still don't know how you didn't get permabanned.

What's the likelihood of an OOT/Asylum merger in the near future?
Also, how much drama exactly would that cause?
I still toy with it from time to time, but most of the OOTers already are posting in Asylum.

Not sure if this was ever asked, but...
Will Zam ever break into other content venues across the board? I know there were a few false starts on video series that, well, I don't even know what happened to them. And I know you post some video content. What I mean is producing interactive content. For instance, there was the Extra Life charity drive recently. I know there was nothing official for FFXIV, but was there anything done for another of the forum groups? Will Zam ever field a group for it? What about live streaming events? I know one of the admins in the FFXIV boards did one for the game when they were able to.
If not, would Zam ever consider partnering with someone already in the video-producing market (some place like Machinima, for example)? I ask because I think that's one very important reason Zam's traffic is falling off. Forums by themselves are great, but having personalities like Syndicate made Machinima the juggernaut it is today, even if upper management is effectively killing it off right now. Look at Pikko. She hasn't been an active admin for a couple years now, and yet people still ask after her. Having a face to the site really helps make it more appealing to stick around.
I know we did have a fairly good podcast going for a bit in FFXI, just wondering if Zam will hop onboard for the video/streaming video culture now in gaming.
I don't have a good answer for that. They have tried things along those lines in the pst that for whatever reason have not worked out well. The main focus at the moment seems to be growing the social media integration for everything. once that is done I suspect alternatives will be looked at, but I really don't know.

This may only apply to the really old forums...
Really old posts in the EQ forums (going back to the anon days) you can still rate up/down.
Recent posts you can (of course) rate
There is this window of time, that if a post falls into... you can't rate it.
1. What is that window?
2. Are the reasons it was implemented still necessary?

The window was supposed to be basically any post older than around 3 months. the reason really really old posts are still sometimes rateable is that those posts actually used a different karma table and method to calculate. Admins don't have the time limiter so I'm not sure of the exact range.
The reason it was implemented was ratebots. People would make a sockpuppet, get it above scholar, then go find all of their really old posts and rate every single one of them up. They would make additional ratebots as needed. Not realizing that the rates on account and by account tools don't show rates on posts, but just a linear history of who rated when. By going with the older posts though they were less likely to be discovered. So, we made the older ones inaccessable. It still happens from time to time, and it is still necessary.
