Really, all this advertising and stuff needs to stop... The "new" gold seller, this guy... They are all just turning these forums into a place to advertise...

Edit: http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=21&mid=110559542270425422&num=113

the first few posts have some good discussion on a system...

SO I just had a thought on this while getting some food... Probably a better option is actually something similar to this, but scaled down some.

Imagine this: Forums Mods. A couple users assigned a forum and an admin they work with. The mod would only be able to nuke posts, and even then only in his assigned forums. Whenever he/she nuked a post, that post would be sent to their admin they work with for review. That admin could either chose to un-nuke it or leave it nuked. 1 admin would have multiple mods to double check post nukes for... Say maybe 2-4 or so for a given forum or set of forums...

This sytem could of course be abused, but they could just revoke the user's status to nuke posts. Its all about checks and balances... The users with the ability would of course not be marked as having the ability so they could still be treated the same. Only admin's would know the whole list, and I don't think anyone who has the ability should know the whole list because if knew and got the power revoked because they abused it they could just release the list...

Edit: Forgot to add this:

I know these forums are mostly modded by users, however even with the mass karma bombing threads like these recieve, people will still see them. I quick nuking is needed for them, and sadly not many people are on at nights that can do that. During the day its a little quicker for nukes, but having people who could nuke within a few minutes of its posting (which is something admins can do if they are on that forum) would probably help to make these people see they aren't wanted here.

Ya know, I had about the same idea a while back. While in theory it would work, there seem to be two issues:

1)Not sure how hard it would be, but coding people in to thave that ability might be more work than it is worth.

2)The admins here are, I am assuming, quite busy as it is. And if I remember correctly, this is more of a side-job deally than main job for some (or all, i dunno). Why give them more crap to deal with?

Personally, I don't think that even with the number of premos any could turn this site into a main job... I don't know. Also, if something like this was implemented (however little the chance lol) I think after the initial workload to mod the code and things it could lighten the load. All it would take is a quick review from the admin who the thread was sent for review to.. and even then only 1 post. Frankly, most posts that warrant nuking are pretty plain and you can tell by title or first few lines. The problem is the admins are busy, and holding other jobs, so sometimes some messages fall below their "radar" for a day or so...

Again, highly doubt something like this would be implemented, but with this latest wave of advertisers in some shape or form (mainly seen them on the wow forum and indirectly heard about here) maybe its time to start looking into something... Maybe just adding an admin or 2, with limited powers maybe, to help lighten the load?

I wouldn't mind having the ability to nuke spam etc in main eq... but I doubt its something that will happen.
