love this site, but...Follow

Hi, I have been on this site for a while, and I am SO glad that I some how found it.
There is no good search for it through the main search engines I have found.
There is SO much info on this site, and I really like how you present it.
However, there are somethings that I have found that make it kinda qwirky to use...but this could be just me :)

such things like:
looking at a post or thread, I can find no good way to quote what someone said, into my post, but there is a way to post under theirs. this is just odd, but ok.

also, some of the buttons for making a new subject/thread/post is hard to see or find.
even some of the buttons in general are hard to see or find.

how do I do a search for a particular persons posts?

Like, say, I'm interested in what someone said, and I wish to look up from their post, other of their posts.
Or even to see my own posts, if I have forgotten where I posted, to look for any further posts to what I said, or even to edit what I said.

other than these things, I love the rating part. wish I could include this into my site...I'll have to look for a patch/mod.
thanks!

I forgot to say, that having a "posts since last visit" for a particular area you want to view, like for me, FFXI stuff.
is that possible?

Not exactly sure what you mean here. You can do a few things...

1)Hit "reply to" on a specific post you want to quote, and then hit quote origional.

2){quote}{/quote} or {quote=}{quote} are the general tags to use when you want to quote anything (using the [] brackets). With {quote=} you put the persons name to have the quote be attributed to them. Such as:

Hi, I am proofsock. I pissed everyone off in the Asylum and they got me below the default filter. I decided to head over to the FFXI boards to try and be able to get scholar, thinking it would make my life worth living, but it didn't. Smiley: cry

You will get used to where the buttons are.

If you are a premium paying member, you will be able to have a list of all of your posts in your "User account" area. Once all of the new servers are integrated and the search function is rebuilt, you would also be able to search the site as a paying member.

If you do not want to pay the cheap $3/month to support the site, you can do the ghetto-search. Go to Google, and click on advanced search. Enter your search criteria, and specify allakhazam.com as the domain.

You can try sending a Personal Message to Illia. You might be able to get the coding for the ratings system, but I doubt it.

Actually you can see your post history without paying, just go to http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/uposts.html (I've even bookmarked it in my browser).

Thanks to the two of you that did post something useful.
Rate up.

Yeah, I figured you had to be a paying member to use some of the functions. And, yes, I'm a cheapskate! lol
Once I get enough money in, then I am sure I will support this site, since I like it so much. :)

YAY...
I'm a member!!!

I can't believe it, after this many years of going bald and not having hair, I decided to join up, and now look at me! I have a full head of hair!

It's a great plan to be on, and I'm so glad that I am finally a member!

It's cheap, and fun too...you should all get your hair, by joining the club today!!

LOL
congratulations.
I laboured over signing up forever, and decided that I should give a little in return for the hours I spend on the site. (sometimes I wonder if I spend MORE time here than I do in game)
