Ive noticed the past week or so, everytime I try to rate someone up, it does not affect the persons post. And no, I have not been hitting the wrong button. A perfect example is I just tried to rate up Katie on her thread to WoW and FFXIers and it did nothing.

Is anyone else getting this or am I special?

Katie, thank you very much.Smiley: inlove I never come to this forum here.

basically, as stated, I've been noticing the past week or so when I rate people it does not take affect. I've been trying to rate some posts up. I just figured it was a glitch, but it has been going on for awhile now. I have tried refreshing the page a few times but it still doesnt look like my rates are working on others. Any idea on how I got the forums to hate me? Did I miss its birthday or something?

nothing strange set on your account. ratings may take a short while to appear on the post, and won't affect a user directly for about 24 hours.

can you give me an example of a post you think you've rated but see no effect?

I've noticed a lag between rating someone and when the rating appears. I think it's just server lag or whatnot.

I wouldn't worry about it, as I've noticed the ratings do eventually appear.

The average rating calculation that occurs every day seems to be down, as a 4 post user with a sub-default post made yesterday still had a 3.00 rating today, plus I think my rating should be at 3.71 or higher considering I have received four 4.46 ratings while at 3.70 and it took only one 4.46 and 4.09 rating to go from 3.69.

Edit - example: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/forum.html?forum=10&mid=111377745537647185&num=70

It seems my average karma has been corrected, but the example link user's average is still 3.00. I did send a PM to Danalog yesterday about it so maybe he ran the script manually on my account or something. :/

Edit: I just noticed my above post was rated down, but if someone did it to test the change I wish they would have rated it "Bad" instead of "Awful", or maybe someone else can "test" by rating it as "Excellent" so it balances out?

yeah the calculator has been down since the server change. I tried running it once but it became unhappy, I'll try again tonight
