To the admins:

For the gold/gil selling threads:

Please, when you nuke/lock these delete the links in the posts. You can still access these threads through the links provided for you all to do your job. While this section of the forum doesn't see too much traffic for unregistered people, it still sees some. Even if the thread has been nuked and locked, if the links remain its still able to be advertised really.

For the threads that have racist comments/flame fest:

Please edit the posts to read blank also. There is no reason for these to be able to still be seen through the links provided for you to do your job.

To the people posting the nuke requests:

Please remove the links in your posts. As I said above, leaving these in still lets people see the threads, which if not edited can still server their purpose.

Alternivately, if an admin wanted to edit out the links in the posts requesting nukes, that would work also. However since you have to edit a post to lock it, why not select all then put like a space or . in the post before locking?

No, we leave the links there so other admns can follow up foir further action if needed. There is no danger of anyone accidentally clicking on the links in this forum, and the benifits for leaving them intact outweigh the downside.

I see. However, could you possibly explain this "further action" to me? I would think it would be possible banning of someone, however you ban all the gold sellers and such already.

Anyways, thanks for a response. I guess I worry too much Smiley: lol

It helps us keep track of what's been done, by who, and where.

If there is no link to the thread, it basically does not exist. (If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?)

If people want to camp the Feedback Forum looking for gilselling threads, they can have at it.

We would rather you not edit links out of your posts.

They like to be able to follow up on actions that other admins have taken, like when a certain admin oversteps his or her bounds and goes on a nuking rampage... Smiley: wink Smiley: lol

As well as contacting people who can take even further action. For example, a university student who spammed with tons of accounts had their Internet privileges revoked because of the evidence left intact for the university's system's administrator to see.
