Curious about karma calculationFollow

Sorry if this is on some FAQ somewhere, but I honestly didn't see it. I am a long time poster now, and I was wondering how the user karma is calculated. Is it on the average rating of your posts, or the individual rates you receive?

What I mean is, do posts that did not get rated at all count towards your total? Or posts that have multiples Excellent rates, do they count more than those who have only a few?

Not that I care all that much about my karma (although I must admit I do a little :p) but I'm curious because sometimes a rate up or down will have a huge impact on my rating, and sometimes almost none at all.

Thanks in advance :)

To figure your overall karma:

K_0 = 3.00

K_n, where n>0 = (2*K_(n-1) + R)/(n_R + 2)

where K_n is your karma after post #n, R is the total of all ratings applied to a given post (Awful = 1, Default = 2, Decent = 3, Good = 4, Excellent = 6), and n_R is the number of ratings applied to that post.

In essence, your first 100 or so posts determines where your karma will stay for the rest of your posting "career" here, barring massive rate camping in one direction or the other.
