So, used to be, when I wanted to quote only part of a post, I'd hit the "Reply to" button, highlight the sentence or whatever I wanted quoted, then click on the "Quote" button. And viola!! It shows up in my new post all quoted and pretty. I just have to add =Thename in the first tag.

But now.... when I do that, it just says:
Quoted Text
, and the part of the original message I want quoted isn't even highlighted anymore. So I have to go down, copy that, and paste it between the tags.

Yeah, it's a small, lazy thing to ***** about, but it's annoying. I find myself using the "Quote original" link more and more, and just deleting the extra stuff I don't want to use. That's really annoying when you've got someone doing quote pyramids and you want to break them up.

So... any way we can get that fixed?

Smash the quote pyramids. Always makes me happy.

Sorry Bel, but is this really a big deal? You already have to highlight in the first place, so why not just right click as you do so and hit copy, then do everything you were doing before, but click paste after hitting quote?

'Cause I always forget, and it throws me off. Smiley: glare

It's annoying as hell, and I've seen other people complain about it, so I thought I'd mention it. It's certainly not priority.

I'm to lazy to learn the easy way, I've always used quote original and erased the crap I didn't want. Now I'm sad I didn't ever learn the easy way.

I thought that was the easy way.

As far as I can tell, the ability to use the buttons with text outside of the editbox selected only ever worked on IE?

I made some changes to the code, so that should work the way it used to, once again. Try a Ctrl-F5 to reload if it's not working for you already.

Yay!! Thanks.

And it was an IE only thing? That's odd. Well, anyway, thanks for changing it back.
