Here's an idea: Stopping NecroFollow

Why not lock anything older than a year behind the present date in all forums. Right now there are 2 two-year-old posts in FFXI main. At least this would block those kinds of stupid posts. And I'm sure a script could do it, no need for it to be manual

Also, for those posts meant to be dynamic and stickied, they could be exempt by the stickied flag.

Agreed, on the assumption that a script like was mentioned could be devised so Admins don't have to do it all manually(unless it's really easy to do a bunch at a time manually, then that'd be alright too).

Admins have the option to return a resurrected post to where it came from. The thread gets put back in place according to its original posting date. Or they sometimes get locked or nuked..

Just link necroposted threads here.

Point me to one of these that is not a sticky, Kaelesh.

There are occassionally times where it is relevent to bring back an older thread. I would rather not penalize good posters who wish to exercise that option just because some asshat can't ressit the urge to find my oldest forum post and bump it. I'd rather just nuke the asshat.

I like Necrobumps though because they're funny...especially when people don't notice it's a necro.

That is all, keep on.

Out of curiosity, can you provide a link to your oldest forum post just so we can see if you were, back then, anything like you are now? Smiley: grin

Well, this one comes to mind. Granted, I haven't been in the thread for sometime now but it seems to me to still be relevant.

That's my take on it. Sometimes, people actually bump posts worth bumping but when someone's just being an ***, use that fancy red arrow button. Trust me, many will follow your example.
