It decided it wants to keep the "Always on Top" button checked if you perform various actions.

1. Hovering over "Network Sites" brings up the list like normal, only it's under the ad.

2. Hiding the menu causes the forum to extend all the way to the right again, but under the ad.

3. Unless you reload the page the ad will continue to stay on top, bringing the menu back after hiding it will not fix it.

edit: Firefox 1.5, ffxi skin.

In before Adblock/get Premium.

I would love for the ad to go away because even with adblock the placeholder is still there and smushes everything to the left, it's rather annoying. Can you please put it back to the bottom left again? I'll give you candy/cookies/money.

That happens if the ad is flash. It's a problem on the advertiser's side, with their head too far up their a** to read documentation about the wmode parameter.

Just make a point of never buying anything from whatever advertiser runs a flash ad, but click on their ad alot so they spend more money on it.

The irony here is silly. We'd been running the tower ad below the menu for a long long time. since 2001 or so. Someone at our corporate overlords wanted it moved, so I moved it on a couple sample pages that it worked ok on, and they went to the advertisers asking for a new code for the old location. The advertiser(s), who had never before complained; suddenly noticed the placement and demanded that we move the Tower ad.

So we move the tower ad, and it irritates users, who all go and install adblock plus, causing ad revenues to decline.

I liked it better on the left too, but the word came down from above.

So I guess no chance of the thread becoming unbroken from the ad on the top right? We'll deal with it eventually...I think. I'd come up with a better argument but your avatar is strangely hypnotizing Illia.
