Flash ads with memory leaksFollow

#1 Oct 27 2007 at 5:34 PM Rating: Good
I browse these forums regularly, on several systems, including windows xp, mac osX and (ick) windows vista. over the past few days, I have noticed that flash player has been giving me errors about a flash object with a memory leak (the error states "would you like to terminate this script, not doing so will cause flash to become unresponsive")

After encountering this error on 2 macs, a vista laptop, and an xp pc, I have come to the conclusion that one of the ads on this site is causing the error. Please look into this.

Thanks

I am seeing the same problem, and it seems to be coming up from the Archlord ad, but I can't be sure of that. It has made it almost impossible for me to surf this website.

I had the same problem with an Archlord ad, but on a different site(though part of Zam).

They'll probably need to know who provided it, which I believe is shown at the bottom of the ad. I wouldn't know, premium ftw Smiley: grin

True enough.

If it helps, the one I saw was on Wowhead.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't suppose you can email a screenshot of the ad to me at malgayne@allakhazam.com so that I know exactly which one it is? When I went to reply to this post I had 2 archlord ads showing, and neither of them caused any troubles so I want to make sure I get 'em.

Please email to make sure I get 'em in a timely manner. :)

from what I have seen, if the page refreshes frequently, the issue doesnt occur... but where I tend to browse the site at work, I have to leave it idle for long periods of time.

I hope this info helps pin down this problem, because I experienced it again tonight (about 3 hours before this post)

I can also confirm that it is the Archlord ad that is vertical on the right side of the page when it occurs. at least in this instance.

Thanks for the info, a screenshot in an email to illia@allakhazam.com will help track this down, for this or any ads you have problems with. Or you can email malgayne@allakhazam.com, who is who I'll forward it to anyhow :)
