Occasionally when viewing pages on the forums here, I've been getting a "blocked pop-up" message at work. Now at home I've had a pop-up appear. What's next, RMT adverts?

Oh phew, I thought I had downloaded adware >.<

I'm noticing the same thing, although rather rarely.

Nope, I posted in the wrong forum... oops. I'll post a note to get it moved.

edit: thank you for pointing out the error of my ways. I had already spotted it, realised the way in which to correct it and then read one post that further emphasised what I should do next. By highlighting my mistake again, after someone else had done so, I was slightly peeved at you.

Still, no excuse for what I said. Sorry.

And that was the nicest post I made all day. Look at it this way: You didn't just show everyone what an asshole you are, you gained a camper too.

How sweet it is.

Damn, someone got out of bed on the wrong side today. Oh wait, that was me.

Sorry for the off-colour response. No excuse for it.

THIS shouldn't be happening. Can somebody temporarily allow popups, take a screenshot of the ad (and ideally get the properties of the window), and email them to me (malgayne at allakhazam.com) so that I know which ad network to yell at?

Firefox isn't giving me any notices that there are popups on the site.

OP, run a program such as Adaware. Chances are, you just have spyware, and it doesn't have anything to do with Allakhazam.

It's kinda lonely though, I'm used to the random 1/2 dressed women on my screen.

I concur. Not once in 3 years have I seen a pop-up here. Even when I wasn't premium.

Thanks for the advice. I do run adaware regularly and I come up clean apart from the usual alerts about cookies.

I did get a pop-up and I did email the properties as directed. I even highlighted the referrer in the source code - http://common.allakhazam.com/ads/tower2.html

I've now had a response and everything looks peachy again. Not a pop-up in sight. Especially so since I've got the no_script addon for firefox but even on IE at work it's been fine today.
