Signature MAX charFollow

Sorry if this issue has been brought up before, pretty dumb if you ask me that something simple as the SEARCH function (one of the important functions of a forum IMO) is disabled to regular members, but that is not what this thread is about =P

Is it possible to make the char limit apply to only characters that actually APPEAR in your signature? I mean it is pretty unfair that any code or anything unrelated to what actually appears in your sig count as a char used. I mean [][/] or html address for links seem like they shouldn't be counted :( Not to mention that even allakhazam links are pretty long and make it hard to even post 3 links in your sig without going over the char limit.

I'd personally rather have it so it could be unlimited characters but only 6 lines MAX.

And no word past 15 letters so you couldn't just spam an infinite word in one line to make the screen scroll.

That would fix it but it's up to a developer anyway, I'll show them this thread and they can tell you how feasable it'd be to change or not.

The signature limits are working as intended and are there for a reason. And you can search the forums by using google and site= if you need to. Your premium dollars fund site upgrades, and pay my salary amongst many others, so I think that having users pay for a few minor features isn't too bad a deal.

but so do all the advertising dollars and any other income the site generates =P im pretty sure you guys make a pretty heft sum not including user income. ah well, guess the answer is no anyways, but IN's idea seems pretty cool too ^^

if the limitation is because of server hardware or something, why not use the premium member money to actually upgrade as you say it is for to raise the limitation :D

You guys make thousands from advertising and whatever else you get income from, money from premium users is moot to you guys. A 'premium' forum site wouldn't ask for a dime from their user base for a simple function such as search that EVERY other forum on the internet provides, although CONTENT and INFORMATION is something worth paying for. Simple functions are NOT worth charging your user base lol, but I guess that defines what this site is all about. If this site actually had anything not readily available else where I would be inclined to sign up for a premium account.

Anyways, off topic and that is not why I created this thread, sorry for the small rant in the OP.

Alla started the premium service explictly because advertising revenue didn't cover the bills.

For 3 dollars a month you get a lot of goodies.

Including:
Smiley: cookie
Smiley: goat
Smiley: llama
Smiley: thumbsup
Smiley: schooled
Smiley: thumbsdown
This alone is WELL worth the money.
