i wanted to buy a premium account and had a question.

There is not much information on what type of pictures you can have for your avatar.

I know that you cannot use illegal or porno images. I totally agree with that.

I have a webcomic, can I use images of my site as my avatar?

Peace,
Ben

Basically, as long as it's not offensive, or overtly sexual, it can be used as an avatar. If you put up an avatar, and it is questionable, or someone complains, you would be asked to change it. You would have to have a fairly offensive or lewd avatar for it to get you banned.

Generally, you would be given a warning if your avatar is unacceptable.

You can also get one of us admins to look at the potential avatar and see if it would be acceptable in advance if you like. The guidelines we generally use for acceptable avatars are PG-13 standards as defined by the american motion picture association.

Also, avatars can be a maximum of 120 x 120 pixles, and can be gif or jpg images. Animated gifs are allowed, but we ask that you refrain from using ones that will induce seizures from blinking too fast.

thanks...
My avatar would be 100% clean. There is enough crap on the net, I do not want to contribute more. My question has nothing to do with questionable content.

My only concern was your policy on my webcomic (or any other website) image as my avatar.

Most of the time, forums admins are ok with this, however, I do not want to assume.

If you would like to see an example....here it is.

thanks again,

It's been my experience that before you put an avatar up, if you think to yourself, "I wonder if I should put this up," you probably shouldn't.

That one is just fine. WE have no problem with people putting links to a webcomic site or whatnot, espoecially if it is something community related. Now if it were a for profit link, that might be another matter.

Hello,
It's me again. I want to do the right thing here.

It seems some of your natives here do not like my avatar.
I am ok with changing it, if you think it would be best for your forums.

I have thick skin...so it doesn't bother me. Hell, I worked on a help desk for over 7 years in IT.

One thing that does bother me though, some of the so called premium accounts are very childish and like to resort to vulgarity. I would have thought they may be a little more accepting.

Again, I have thick skin. I will respect what you think is best.

:)
Peace.

Yes, if it were only a little thicker, it might be described as translucent rather than transparent. You're still a far cry from opaque though cowboy.

Make sure you carry an umbrella today, the weatherman is calling for rain.

Anyone can get premium, if they have a credit card. There's not some test to decide if you're intelligent or polite enough to be a member of the website.

I've noticed.

Gotta say though..I love the site.
A lot of good info.

It was suggested by a couple of friends who use it regularly for game info.

Peace

Yeah, the bare *** exceeds PG13. You could either remove that slide, or edit in some sort of cover and it would then be acceptable.
