Could someone look into this?

http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=21;mid=1196661339147721096;num=5;page=1

It's a scholar post but other than that it screams of keylogger;

It's a suspicious post about how to fix zone loading times. The info doesn't even sound possible.

A quick google search about the information in the link is this:

http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/solutions/self_service/

It looks like a program that could capture key strokes or something similar.

To me it looks like the user tried a free demo or something to setup an example program on adobe's site in order to make it a legit link.

Ban this loser.

Yup. Best to remove it and note the account. I'll look into this a bit more and decide if a ban is warranted.

Well, looks like someone posted this over at the official site so the user reposted it here. I don't see anything in the history to warrant a ban at this time, however, Nix already nuked the thread so that fixes that.

According to some of the posts on the o-boards, it's something about having a browser window open to speed load times but I agree, until there is some kind of official "yeah, this works when we test it" from the Blizzard staff, it's best to nuke it here. Just to be safe.

I don't know, if you go to the Adobe site (using firefox, searching doesn't seem to work with Internet Explorer), go to Support->Knowledgebase (you can tell by the nifty kb in the link...) then search for "Version" with the product "Flash Player" selected you'll get a link to that page.

It looks like it's just an Adobe Flash Version Checker - people are probably getting blank pages and the like due to disabled scripting/ActiveX/whatever.

I could be wrong though.

That's one of the best examples of keylogger paranoia I've ever seen...

The linked page is nothing more than a version check page, written by adobe people as part of the whole "self service" thing they do. Only reason it was linked in the thread on the official forums is that it's an incredibly small and lightweight flash file, as compared to the online radio site that was originally linked.

As to flex, it can't capture keystrokes sent to anything but the application running the flash program. It's impossible for it to grab your password from WOW unless you go and manually refocus on your web browser, and then type in your password. Which would be stupid to say the least.

That link is a legitimate link. it is indeed a link to the adobe flash player diagnostics site. kb.adobe.com refers to the Adobe incorporated technical support knowledge base. I have restored the thread.

Links like that though, you can't be too careful. We'll always nuke them first if there is any doubt whatsoever, then restore them if there is sufficient cause.

I tested it with a tried and true method. I went to the link and printed it out on 100% recycled paper. Then I placed the paper in a small pond. It did not sink. Then I placed an average duck (I did checked it's IQ and papers and it was indeed officially average) in the same pond. The duck also did not sink. Therefore my conclusion that it was indeed a witch keylogger.

You know, in a pinch you can use very small rocks if you find yourself shy a duck.
