Referring to this topic. Now, I've done my share of rating other people down and I understand that the topic is a bit of a hot button, but it's gotten to teh point that even when I'm not arguing with anyone or saying anything even remotely offensive like here or here or here or here where I'm getting rated down for laughing, for making a joke on a joke, for saying I'm going to adandon the topic to email SE, and for asking someone for a source... these dire offenses warrant blanket ratedowns? I'm not going to go through and fight on every single post in the topic as, as I said, I understand it's a hot button topic and some people don't like being wrong but seriously... can someone tell my troll that's nuking every single post I make regardless of content to knock it off and learn to judge individual posts on their own merits?

The thread shouldn't even have been made. It's pointless and holds no meaning. All it has done is create a mild flame war.
Maybe if emails from SE actually meant something like when you go have an actual interview with them it could be a decent thread, but until then...

The point of rating is other users decide whether to rate up or down, not the person who is being rated . . .
