PM Sent Box DeletingFollow

#1 Dec 27 2007 at 12:36 PM Rating: Good
I have a TON of Sent PMs in my Sent Box that I'd like to clean up but unlike the InBox there is no Action Drop-down Bar thing used to delete them.

I believe this is intentional, as deleting them from your sent box would delete them from the other person's inbox as well.

Which is all fine and dandy but if a User hasn't seen a PM in a months time, he'll never see it and I say *****'em.

Sent PM's should just be able to be deleted after a certain amount of time.

It's not an option at this time, and from what I understand will not be. If I hear differently I will post here.

It's a consequence of using a single table to store the PMs, I suppose. I might consider adding a flag to a PM that, once marked "deleted" by the sending party would simply prevent it from being included in the list of sent PMs. Just a thought. :/

You can move a PM to the archive folders. That will at least stop it from loading each time you open the PM folder. A "I never want to see this PM again and don't show me anything in it hidden super secret PM Folder of Doom was my suggestion to the deletign issue, but no one liked that idea.

There is no Action scroll down to do anything with the PMs or I would have Smiley: frown

Ah, I see it. It's in the individual messages, in gray at the bottom of the page.

I like to read my old PMs every now and then. If we enabled people to delete their sent PMs after a certain amount of time and that causes me to be unable to read them I'll be a very unhappy camper. >:O

So if I click on a message that I sent, I am actually viewing it from inside the receiving person's inbox? I ask this because I notice that my name has a link for info but the receiving person's name does not.
