"Your images" and URLs

I want to add an image to my image folder directly form the URL, but I'm told that only Jpeg and PNG is accepted.

Jpeg is, like, never used. Why doesn't it accept JPG? It's the same, innit?

Having to download the picture, resave it as a Jpeg file and then upload it unnecessarily annoying.

jpeg and jpg are same, but you have to have the image on your computer to upload it AFAIK

I upload *.jpg foles all the time. if it wouldn't take it you were using a codec that the system didn't recognize

I was just uploading via a direct link to the image. ie. http://www.randomlink.com/photos/lol.jpg - but when I tried to upload it, it said that only Jpeg and PNG was allowed.

Maybe it's because it can't upload pictures directly off the net. Might be it. Sucks, though, but not as much as having to change filetype. I'll have to test it.

The image upload form is looking for the actual image, which is coming from your HD. Links to an image don't work.
