Not really though. With the recent attacks on the site I'm sure I can freely say that quite a few people who play the various MMO's listed on the site are a little bit worried(probably the FFXI'ers more than any.) We've seen several websites get attacked and then had keyloggers injected into their content in some very hard to notice places. As a result of those keyloggers hundreds of people lost their accounts in FFXI.
I'm just curious as to what preventative steps you guys are taking in order to keep an eye on this. I know that Dana, Kao, and all of the other admins here do a fantastic job, but let's face it you can't have an admin on 24/7. Is the security on the site strong enough to pick up on something like this if it would actually occur? I understand that this site is heads above the other sites that were affected, but it still is something that makes people a bit uneasy. Thanks for reading.

I don't want to go into too much detail in the event they are monitoring the forums, but so far we have been monitoring their packet floods and the data they are sending will not work. None of it so far has included anything resembling a keylogger. It's just mass amounts of junk code.
For a moment though lets assume that somehow, ignoring all the hurdles they would have to overcome, the server AV, etc, they did get one loaded. We have a very tech savvy community here. In the past when we have had even suspect banner ads people are very quick to notice such problems and report them to us. If something were to somehow slip buy, we would immidiatly take the entire site offline to deal with it. Given our international staff, we usually have someone here somewhere.
They can slow us down, but they can't crack us. We really need a new router to better combat this.

They have tried various attacks against us, none of which are something that could insert malicious code into the site. Mainly, it's been torrents of junk data.

You should be perfectly fine.
We had a couple customers purchase premium and then server lag due to the DDOS made the premium not activate correctly, but they sent a quick PM to Darqflame, and she fixed it all up. That's the worst that'll happen.
