Programming resources?
Edit: bah multi tasking with one hand = booboos!!
I am sure it was discussed previously and I believe we decided the programming resources would be better spent else where. However, if there was a massive need for WAP, I am sure we could bring it up again. As I access the site with my 8125 often, I wouldn't be against it in anyway!

Although I am not sure what the programming resources were used on, I would think the first thing (or at least a high priority) would to be to focus on a valid website (at least by W3C standards).

That isn't to say all our html is perfectly valid, but it's pretty close, and it's designed and tested in the standards compliance modes of the popular browsers.
... not that this has anything to do with the question of being more mobile device friendly, which has more to do with dealing with tiny screen sizes.
I'm able to browse the forums on my PSP if I use the news skin. On ones with a sidebar, theres just too little remaining screen real estate, but without it, it works fairly well from what I can tell. You may have some trouble if you have to give up more space to ads, but there's not much we can do about that. I've also had decent luck using opera mini on my phone, and it runs on any phone that supports java.
