I know that I'm probably just an idiot and all, but I just accidentally clicked to report some image someone posted b/c my pointer just happened to be hovering over the link as I leaned forward, and it made me think how nice it would have been to have had some sort of follow-up asking me to confirm my intent to report said image.

It probably won't happen much, but.....meh.

It's not a real problem unless all the admins go on vacation at the same time.

Generally what happens is an admin will look at what's in the reported-images queue and then OK most of it, after which point it can't be reported again.

Nope, it wasn't me (I don't think). I'm pretty sure the one I clicked was a scary dog in OOT that Annabella posted. I could be wrong though.....I was a little distracted, I guess. Sorreh!

Then why does my Image keep on getting reported, and will I get ******* at if I put it back up again?

language, I imagine.

personally, I'd approve it - but I'm really lenient, other admins might not feel the same way about it. With any image which is attempting to ride some line of what's acceptable or not, your mileage may vary.

Probably depends where it is being posted too. In Asylum i'd have no problem with it. In OOT, strictly because of language exceeding PG-13 guidelines I'd remove it.

Kk, I figgered it was because of language, but I did not see a lot of people getting butthurt over it. No biggie though.

Can we up the PG-13 to PG-17ish (yes I know not real)? Not many 13 year olds posting and any teens we come across tend to be 15 and above.

It's also in play for the people who are able to post from work.

Not trying to stir things up, but people read and post in the asylum at work.

Not to be a stickler, but there's nothing stating that. "Not for the feint of heart" doesn't lead me to believe NSFW, but more that controversial issues will be discussed. Although, what it really means is expect to get ridiculed/karma bombed if you can't seriously back yourself up.

"Not for the faint of heart" usually means that there is offensive material. Be that nudity, profanity, or gore, that's usually when it's used. The actual phrase, "faint of heart" alludes to people who have a heart condition, and being startled would result in a heart attack.

I don't know what you expected when you first started posting on a gaming forum, but the potential for nudity and gore were not in my expectations. "Not for the feint of heart" on a gaming forum isn't the same expectation as it is in other formats.

Same is easily said about the OOT. When posting in a gaming forum OOT one does not expect the derision and out right hate that one normally encounters with outsiders there.

Not having come from within Allakhazam, imagine my surprise when first checking out the forums and finding out that OOT is *not* your typical OOT gaming forum! :o

I agree completely, but then again, the OOT is moderated, whilst the Asylum is barely. I don't really care to be honest. I was just pointing it out. I like the Asylum as it is, which is why I usually don't say squat about this stuff.

I got a question though. Since we're trying to keep the site PG-13, which PG-13 rating are we using? I got asked to remove a dog humping a doll because it wasn't PG-13, yet, that very same action happens in the movie "Click", repeatedly, which is rated PG-13.

When I was posting on the gaming portions of the forum, I expected gaming content. When I read the name, "Asylum," I expected it to be harsh, and when I read the disclaimer, I expected there to be profanity and NSFW things linked.

Maybe that's just me. I haven't frequented any other gaming forums.

I'm going to shut up now, just in case I say something some moderator likes and starts actually moderating the Asylum. I like it as is.

I don't know. I can be pretty convincing at times. You still seem to think I'm a good guy. Smiley: tongue

The last gaming forum I frequented really didn't have any boundaries.

Then again, it was Doomworld.
