Gamestop Coupon Issues - Premium AccountFollow

In short - the coupon code wasn't accepted by Gamestop. So I tried another coupon - same thing.

To back up a bit - I'm trying to place pre-orders on Gamestop's online store (for the Warhammer Online Collector's Edition and WoW's Lich King expansion). While my Electronic Boutique account is fine, the Gamestop (same company now) doesn't recognize my account. I try to make a new account but it says my email address is already in use. I try to retrieve a new password thinking maybe I created an account a while back. No such luck - it doesn't recognize the email account.

I then call their 1-800 number and get probably the most apathetic customer service rep outside of the government that I've heard. He says they will be doing away with their old online website and that this sounds like a tech support issue and the tech support team will not be inclined to fix this issue at this time...so I asked him, well, ok, can I give you the Allakhazam coupon code number over the phone and place the order? He sighs, says he will give it a try. It doesn't work and we tried two numbers as previously mentioned.

I told him nevermind, I'll place the order through Electronics Boutique Online store since I've never had a problem with it in the past.

You guys ever offer a coupon through EB? It would save me a lot of trouble and I'd still be able to utilize your coupon - if not, I'll probably never use it - like the typical GameStop in-store experience, the online is just as horrible.

Hmm, that's weird because the only "coupon" displayed is just a number. If that works, I'll try it next time.

Well that explains it - both my orders were pre-orders - still, the whole phone call turned me off to Gamestop even more than when I avoided it in my offline shopping.
