My images.Follow

There are some things that have been bugging me about the image pages for a while now.

Is there any chance that the page can display the most recent pics first, instead of last? Scrolling down and waiting for everything to load is getting to be tiresome.

Is it possible to have the thumbnails wrap to the current window size, instead of the currently shown image size? If I click on a small picture, then all my thumbnails wind up in one really freaking long column, which leads back to my first request of loading the most recent first. Smiley: grin

I doubt this one will fly, but I might as well mention it. Would it be a giant pain if you were to allow us to organize our images into folders? That would be freakin sweet.

Just thought of another request. What about putting the img tag underneath each thumbnail, in plain text. So we can just highlight that, then copypasta it, instead of clicking on the thumb, loading the pic, then doing the copypasta?

Oddly enough, one of my more recent photos shows up first on my image list. The rest are still at the bottom.

I've noticed that some of my recently uploaded images will be put in the middle of the list too. I think it has something to do with whatever script is assigning img numbers to each newly uploaded image. Every once in a while, the script starts over or something, and starts filling in the numerical blanks where images have been removed or deleted.

Random guess is random.

I figured a response of "good luck, I've had image enhancement requests pending for over a ******* year now" would have been bad for morale.

Well after what had to go on just to get ffxi signatures put in place, I'm not really that demoralized by that statement. :p

I am willing to go to that extent. I'm sure I could rally the OoT into a feverish mob.

I do believe five days is an acceptable time limit before bumping this thread again.

So, developers, what's the story?

They've just made a questionnaire on the WoW forum about new features, so my bet is that they'll revamp the site soon. Hopefully these requests will be taken into account when they do.

And for the love of god, someone add some "Back" buttons in the account management system. I know how a certain programmer feels about "Back" buttons, but it's really annoying that you have to click the browser's button and then reload the page for the changes to take effect.

These are the image system enhancements we have been trying to get added.

1. On user page, a "list all images reported by this user" and "list all images uploaded by this user that have been reported" sub page, similar to the ratings on user, ratings by user pages.
1a. A count of deleted images by this user field, to track potential problem cases before they become major upload problems. Or possibly a text list of deleted images, with a notes field and a date / deleted by stamp.

2. A "Noreport" flag for people abusing the image report system.

3. A "no image upload allowed" flag - Or we can just ban them I suppose. but something like this would be entirely approprate for users such as the infamous lobsterjohnson if we aren't going to flat out ban them.

4. Adjust the all users images page to show any that have been reported with the orange rectangle. Make the reported images visable to admin and the user who posted the image, since they have already seen it. Also modify display in threads so reported images show to admins with a 3 pixle wide orange boarder. Since we can't tell if they are reported or not otherwise.

5. Show "Reported by:" in the image display in thread near the promote approve delete edit buttons

Thanks Kaolian. I can only imagine that if it's taking this long for the admin utilities of the images pages to be implemented, then the users will have to wait a number of months more.

Out of curiosity, is there now (or will there be in the future) a limit on the number of images per user? I'm asking just because, for some reason, I wouldn't be surprised if the images exceed the forum DB's size within a year or two... Smiley: grin

Not currently, though I do wish there was a way to limit displayed images per page. Some of you have insane numbers of images...
