We've done a pretty significant upgrade to wow.allakhazam.com. Graphically, and functionality wise much has changed.

Please post here with any feedback and/or bug reports, if something doesn't work the way you expect it to.

The 3D character viewer is amazing.

I went to view my mage and everything went well, the only problem I had was she is female and the viewer showed male.

Are the only options male? Is there a way you can pull that information as well? Switch between male/female? The WoWReader upload does not show gender, so I'm guessing that's why.

Yup, defaults to male. If you update an existing toon from the armory, it'll import the gender. Otherwise, I'll add a toggle that lets you switch.

Posted this in Anobix's thread but

1) WoWsig is giving false numbers for +healing/damage, least on toon I imported from Armory.

2) URL button is not working for me which means I have to manually type {link=} to link, which is no bueno.

3) Armor set still needs a search function by class, PvP, PvE, tier etc.

4) Not sure how to find the old "guide" section

I posted this in the WoW general, but...

Please align the avatar, stars and post count with everything else in the "poster info" block. It honestly looks silly (esp for non-avatar posts).

Similar elements sharing alignment FTW!

Also, upping the contrast between the sand-brown background and the light brown color for links would be nice. A 2pt increase in font size would be nice as well.

Seeing some text overlapping in subject lines. I had this big thousand word essay on it but I figured a picture was better.

Other than there not being a "Forum List" link in the forum menu, the one that goes to a list of every forum on alla, I like it.

When clicking on a non-pinned character in the drop down menu, it would make more sense for that profile to open in the window, as opposed to pinning the profile.

I stared at the screen for a few minutes trying to figure out why the profile was not loading.

Also, the bulk of the questions about sub-profiles from this thread are still valid.

Did you try clicking on the Menu name? It will bring you to the list of all forums

I just noticed that. Smiley: laugh

But now I'm noticing that my title looks like crap on the lighter colored post boxes. Smiley: glare

On my list of characters, I cannot delete one. I see "error on page" at the bottom of the browser when I try.

Oh, and it's cool that after importing from the armory, it says my +healing is over 4000. Well, actually it would be better if it was correct I suppose.

Sorry, I went ahead and posted my suggestions in two different threads in the OOT and WoW forums.

I'll repost them here, then.

- The color change is meh. I prefer darker colors and the current creamy one doesn't exactly make me think of World of Warcraft. Look at the official site for reference. Look at the game's logo. Those are the colors you should use. In my opinion, of course.

- Margins. You need to increase the left and right margins. I can't read an entire post on a 19" monitor at 1280x1024 without turning my head. That's a very big no go. Have you ever watched a movie at the theatre where you were placed so close to the screen you had to turn your head to see everything? You lose focus and everything becomes a blurr, meaning you put strain on your eyes, something you don't want on a website. Besides, blank space to the left and right of the action is very popular these days.

- Bordered frames. My avatar is floating around in a creamy sea of space and really needs a line or two to seperate it from the post. In the same breath, please move the signature area further down as posts containing just one line are basically having sex with the signature right here on my monitor. Down, boy! Down!

- Header looks nice, but you might want to consider removing the World of Warcraft logo and stretching the Allakhazam logo out to fill its place. The logos look very different and having them placed so close together makes it look like a mess. No offense.

- New Subject and Thread Index links need to be smaller, or, preferably, buttons, just like Post Message and Preview Message are. It's a minor thing, though, but hey, now I've said it.

As for stuff that looks great.. well, pretty much everything else. There are some layout issues on the various pages. I don't know why you guys love large blank areas in all the wrong places. A huge blank area next to a tiny thumbnail is okay, but margins? Hell naw!

Edit: The URL button doesn't work, by the way. And apparently the Smileys link stretches all the way to the other side of the frame instead of only the text. And link colors need a change. Can barely see the difference. And building on Xsarus's comment, username, score and title really should be centered.

My feedback.

I find it hard to differentiate which threads I have read and which ones have new posts.

When I click on a name to pm them or whatever it turns grey (ie: link clicked colour) I think names should stay their normal colour.

On the whole, excellent job, I'll post any more suggestions/comments when I think of them.

I'll second Mazra's sig comment, and the stars and posts look strange in the center when everything else is off to the left. Also titles should be Bolded imo, some of them (nixnot) need a bit of help now.

By header I meant the top banner. It does look nice except for the logo issues.

Really liking it so far, the character upgrade section is exceptionally well done, also like the drop down menus since I post a lot on the Pally forums and it makes getting there much easier.

Gear sets and Gems need to be little more functional in terms of searching and sorting. For example being able to only display gems that fit blue slots would be nice rather than having to click on colour to sort and then scroll down the entire screen. Same with gear sets, you get a giant list, if I wanted to look up Warrior sets I would have to either already know the name or else click on class to sort and then just start looking through, also no distinction between PvE and PvP so if I am looking for PvP sets and I am not sure of names its the same thing.

We have a couple options regarding gems.
Under Items on the menu, select Gems, then colour. This will give you a list of all the gems which match a particular slot colour. For a blue slot, you will pick up purple and green gems as well as blue.
Under Items, select browse -> gem -> colour. this will give you an exclusive list of only the items match a particular colour. You can filter this list much more interestingly than the first one. Once user defined tags take off, ideally, you'll be able to pull up all the gems and then filter to your hearts content. for now you're stuck with our lame default ones.

Gems which are also heroic drops, and have a parry rating

A general question, but how does one access the model viewer easily? And why does my Night Elven Druid appear as a Blood Elf? Smiley: lol

I've noticed that the category, prerequisite, and "leads to" fields are no longer listed for quests and would like to request that they be returned. The "quest chain" is nice, but it doesn't cover linking chains where one chain is a pre-req for another.
An Example:
Clear the Way leads to The Scourge Cauldrons

Also, I too prefer the darker colors. They are easier for me to read. I admit to being a poor judge of aesthetics, however.
