When previewing a message (at least when starting a new thread), the preview is white on this very light blue-ish. Very hard to read.

I like it overall, just noticed this, so am reporting it.

Bright colours don't work on the bright-tan background that is applied to odd-numbered posts in a thread. For example, http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/class.html?wclass=4;mid=1168843786135015300;num=143;page=1 - the onyl way I can read the paragraph titles is by highlighting all the text, which isn't really workable.

Please return the link to a listing of all daily quests (or even better would be to add a Daily option under the quest flyout menu and let us pick which area)

AH-HA I finally found the forum......(cut/paste from WoW General forum)...and I quote myself......

I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like it Allakhazam.

The back and fore grounds are way too bright and I miss all the categories listed in one area where I could just scroll down and click to the area I wanted. Now I have to click here, then here and then here to get to, a specific "genre" if you will, of the information I'm seeking. I'm all for updating the information and making improvements but I think this was a wee bit TOO much too fast. Like going from a nice warm relaxing tub into the center of a polar ice cap, my system (the human one) is in a state of complete and retinal shock. I think I could adapt much more easily if it weren't so damn.....

BRIGHT!

The character upgrader, you can "show" the stats but not re-hide them.

Also, there are less options for stat searching than there on the advanced item search. I actually use more than 8 different stats when item searching.

Seeing some text overlapping in subject lines. I had this big thousand word essay on it but I figured a picture was better.

More overlapping issues - people with long user names overlap the first line of their message. For example: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/class.html?wclass=4;mid=121141009996417262;num=24;page=1 - third or fourth message in the thread.

I posted this in the general forums as well.. but what the heck.

I would suggest switching the Post count and stars to be left justified (like the name, title, avatar and karma). They look silly all by their lonesome.

I concur, and while I certainly like this new layout. It will take a while to get use too. The main page of the forums that has all the posts seems a little to light colored to me but once in a post the colors seem just fine (Only the links tend to disappear a little bit). I personally just like a little darker color scheme.

Can the new posts be made bold and the mouseover only outline.

i.e
old: current wiehgt, current color
New: current color color, bold
mouseover old: current weight, underline
mouseover new: bold, underline

The text is WAY too small. Bump it up to 12 or 14! I'm young and have good eyesight, and I even have to squint and get about 2 inches from my monitor to read it without upping the size in my browser.

Edit: And the thread title disappears after the first page. It should be on every page- not just the first.

That's been like that forever - but I agree, it would be nice if it wasn't so.

As for the new layout - looks nice! The only thing that I think I would ask right now is if you could globally change the yellow tags to something else.

I think someone mentioned this on another thread but I can't find it - many of the stickies used yellow font as section headlines but with the new style sheet you can't read it. If the admins could just change that to a more readable color on all the wow stickies that would rock.

Nice job guys - I fear change but this isn't so bad so far.

I'm loving the update and the site looks much cleaner, but I DON'T like the colors. As others have said, they're really... bright. Any chance of having style options? Other than the brightness, I love it. Excellent work Illia.

I will echo the above stating that the links are pretty hard to read being the same color (albeit, a different shade) as the backgrounds are. A mild annoyance to me, but I'm sure some others (especially those who may have trouble differentiating shades of the same/similar colors) may find it fairly exasperating.

-- One of the larger things that I see, is non-bold links. Coupled with the closeness in color, it makes them fairly hard to read. The "name" links also just don't look good unbolded. (This is already in effect now :p, unvisited links/new posts have bold and it looks good, usernames with bold look a LOT better too.)
On Edit: Long usernames, like my annoying one, shift over into the post block now :(. I'd <3 for it to be changed to shorter, but either forcing a wrap after x characters (could look messy), or adding the padding below could help with that.

-- A little more padding between the "User Block" and the "Post Block" would be good too. Most of the avatars we see don't really show a problem because they are not max width (or they have transparency), but take a look at Mazra's for example. The post text is way too close to the user block and it just doesn't look that great.

-- As always, ever since the original switch to subdomains (or maybe slightly after?), the "Welcome XXXXX, Private Messages" text in the upper right just don't look right. Perhaps either moving this into a menu, or replacing "My Account" with the welcome name would even work (and making the "Private Messages" into either an Icon, or just shortened).

-- Item tags. There are quite a few missing or extra tags on a lot of the items. (Raid loot being marked as "Vendor" for instance). There appears to be a method in place to rate tags up or down, but this doesn't appear to be implemented yet?

-- Mob Discussion. Setting to "Horizontal" format over "Forum" format makes the page have all sorts of overlap issues in the comment area.

I'll plan out some time today to really hit the site hard for you guys (and for myself, I actually enjoy doing this sort of thing!) and post out what I see. Of course, it's up to you to do what you will with it :) (or even nothing at all!), but, like I said, it's just something I enjoy. (I suppose that's why I do that sort of thing for a living...)

Edits: #1 - Added in the bold stuff being there now, and long user name issue
#2 - "It just look that great" is rather different than "It just doesn't look that great". GG me.

Very good fast job on fixing my two concerns. So far I'm quite impressed, and I like the colour scheme.

I'll second the point on yellow tags.

I noticed something slightly odd about the pinned character item upgrades feature regarding the filtering system. For instance, on my 70 Resto Druid...when searching for Upgrades to the "Feet" slot, it will only return upgrades that match the current type of armor in the slot, and not all available armors to the class. So right now, if I look for upgrades to my current item Curate Boots which are Cloth, it will not return Leather items that are also upgrades...for instance Forestlord Striders.

In the "Item Details" expandable tree...there's everything but the type of armor...so I can't even classify that I want to query leather upgrades. Can this be as easy as adding an armor classification field to the "Item Details" filter?

The update for characters using the Armory seems at least slightly bugged. It has mislabeled me as an "officer" of my guild when I am in fact in rank 4(I can't remember what the rank is called off the top of my head).

I like the changes. Can't say I "love" them yet, but it grows on ya.

The one issue that I see that's not already been mentioned: In IE6 (locked into that browser at work), the Z-order on the drop down menu's is slightly skewed. When mousing over the menu while looking at a post, the menu appears BEHIND the "number of posts per page" drop down menu. It blocks at least one item on the menu.

Thumbs up on the new look! Took a few seconds to get used to, and not perfect yet, but so far I'm diggin it. NIce job. :)

Edit: One suggestion. I noticed there's a few old posts using colors to enunciate a point. Might want to alter these as its a bit hard to read in some instances and nary impossible in others. Also noted some of the other color comments above after bouncing about for a bit.

Here's examples of yellow, orange, tan, and gold:

This sentence is posted in yellow
This sentence is posted in orange
This sentence is posted in tan
This sentence is posted in gold

My post is on the lighter background (and I like the color switch between replies) but if it were on the darker, I reckon the tan would appear as invisible ink, much as the gold blur is above.

But, again, overall /cheer

Can you give me an example of one of the ones that's mistagged?

Rating of tags should work, but it'll take more than 1 down-rate to knock off one of the auto-generated tags, and you can only rate an item+tag combination once per person.

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=29923 -- Is an example of a static raid drop being tagged with "Vendor".

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=19514 -- Is Al'ar's loot page with 5 additional raid drops with the same tag.

(So far, the bulk of my messing around has been on Al'ar's page ><)

(edited to say, I've now seen the tags moving as I hit the rate buttons, it was tough to see when there was nothing that I could see actually happening with them, so that is fine :))

On the al'ar page it's amusing to see a heroic tab for loot.
