Site Rewards for postingFollow

I like the idea of people being rewarded with more chances to win the new prizes for using the forums and such. One problem it has led to though is to much random posting, flamming, and rude conduct all so people can increase the ammount of entries into the drawning. I have litterally seen posts saying "woot better chance to win". That takes away from the whole point. Instead of increasing the use of your forums it has just turned it into a joke and to be honest has made me consider not using this site at all anymore.

That will likely be a short term side effect. Hopefully some of those people will stick around and become better posters. A forum works only by growing. It's a gestalt, the more people in the mix, the stronger your population base is, and the stronger your population base, the stronger the forum as a whole.

So please, bear with the disruption.

Only posts that remain above a 2.01 rating are counted for entries to the contest. If you feel that people are simply spamming for entries, then you should rate the post down.

Also, wiki edit will always generate more entries than posts, so you will have better chances of winning by contributing to the Wikibaseâ„¢ than by posting on the forums.

We are checking all the entries before posting the winners. If you read the rules, you will see that spamming, flaming etc is an instant disqualification and your name will be withdrawn from the winner pool. Some people could even aquire a ban...

To restate the above, if you're interested in winning by far your best bet is to contribute quality material to the wikibase.

It's a WoW thing. Apparently to celebrate the new design of the WoW skin they're having a contest with some half decent prizes. I'm too lazy to bother with a link but I'm sure if you care enough to look you could find the exact details.
